Urban Dare Tucson begins Saturday, December 5 at O'Malley's on 4th at 247 N 4th Ave.

Race-day check-in will begin at 11:00am and we will be taking registration up to the start of the race. Proceeds from the race will go towards the fight against breast cancer.

Our first place teams from the 2009 series win a 3-day Caribbean Cruise, where they will compete in the first ever Super Dare. Racers will compete on the boat, and at our 2 ports of call. It will be 3 days of fun and games on the last weekend of February 2010. Super Dare winners will receive $5,000.

We now have a family division. I've always allowed kids to race with their parents, but never made an official division. Family divisions can be three or four people and must have one person 16 or under.

This year we are relaxing our rule on having to wear Urban Dare shirts. If you have team costumes/uniforms, you may wear those. Otherwise, you must wear the Urban Dare shirts, which you will receive at check-in. We will have a $50 prize for the best costume.

You should bring a cell phone and a digital camera to show your pictures at the end of the race. A cell phone camera will work. Maps are also handy and you should have someone to call to help look up clues. I also recommend a pen or pencil to take notes.

Once you are out of the starting blocks, you will pick up your clue sheets and be on your way. You can call friends as much as you want for help on clues. Urban Dare Nashville Winners

Thank you to everyone who participated in Urban Dare Nashville.

Here was our stumper clue: Get your picture with a guitar that is three stories tall. You will find it at (unscramble for 2 words) REALYTAVL Guitar.

Congratulations to Rex & Brett Miller, father and son team, who won with a time of 1:47:59.

Ryan and Amy Taylor were the only other team to finish under 2 hours. Jennifer Flowers & Jason Marienfield used their 5 minute bonus to pass Kellye Smith and Kristen Pfister and take third place.

For the stumper clue, many teams came back with a picture of the big guitar in front of the Hard Rock Cafe. It is well under three stories and you couldn't unscramble the word to form hard rock. The correct guitar is on the Art Valley Guitar building on 12th street. Everyone went past this landmark on their way to get their photo with the Pontiac sign.

Philadelphia Winners

Thanks to everyone who participated in Urban Dare Philadelphia. Pictured here are the top 3 teams and the first family team.

The closest we had to a stumper clue was:

"Do bells whisper? Yes, when they are tolling of freedom. Get your picture with these bells."

Congratulations to Ed Wagner and Ryan Vellia who won with a time of 2:01:43. They win the Super Dare Cruise.

Mary Baker & Erica Scopino of the Lovely Lolitas finished second. Trang Nguyen & Kristy Chernin came in third place. They narrowly beat the Boulangerie Babes who suffered a 1 minute penalty for getting a picture of the Florence inscription instead of the Tel Aviv inscription at Sister City Plaza.

Donna, Mel, Heather & Jimmy Mchugh along with Donna Garrett were the first family team.

On the stumper clue, most teams correctly came back with a picture of the Whispering Bells of Freedom sculpture in front of the African American Museum. A few came back with a picture of the Liberty Bell. Then again, after it was cracked, it no longer tolled. Perhaps it whispers, too.

Urban Dare Oklahoma City top teams

Thank you to everyone who participated in the first ever Urban Dare Oklahoma City.

Congratulations to Priscilla Ferguson & Sarah Paxson of Playing with Fire for coming in first with a time of 1:33:01. They came in 2nd place in May's Dallas race, and came up here determined to win the Super Dare race.

Terri Taylor & Mitch Ruzzoli came in second and third place honors went to Micah McCarty & Justin Fortney.

The Chisums were the first family to finish.

Some people thought I was being tricky by asking people to tell me at the finish how many people were in the red sculpture at the Bank of America building. Originally this clue was going to send you to the Land Run Monument and it would have been fun to have you count all the people depicted in that. When I ran the routes, I discovered this would have made the race a little too long. So I changed the checkpoint to the red sculpture and meant to have you count the number of pieces in it. For those of you who are curious, there are 14 pieces in the sculpture.

We are looking forward to growing the race next year.

Urban Dare San Francisco Winners

My favorite checkpoint was human structures where you had to count the number of human forms in the sculpture. Almost all teams correctly counted 62 of them. Only about 12 teams got their picture with an acupuncture doll.

We will let you know when our videos come out from the race footage. We'll put something up on the site, but more importantly we will now have something to show to the channels we've been talking with about turning Urban Dare into a traveling reality show. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Urban Dare San Francisco - TV Pilot - Sat, Sep 12

Urban Dare San Franciscon begins Saturday, September 12 at Noon at The Ferry Building. We will be taping the race for our TV pilot, so you will have to sign a release for your images to be used in the show.

Race-day check-in will begin at 10:30am and we will be taking registration up to the start of the race. Look for the light blue shirts in the traffic island next to where the streetcar runs. Proceeds from the race will go towards the fight against breast cancer.

This will be a two stage race. You will get clues for 6 checkpoints at the start, and then you will get the next set of 6 clues at the finish of stage 1. In each stage it is up to you to determine the best order to complete the clues, but the finish checkpoint at the end of stage 2 should be your last stop.

For those of you who want to get the ball rolling early, on Friday evening we will have what we are calling a casting call party at the Fly Bar at 1085 Sutter St (@ Larkin) from 5pm - 9pm. We hope to do some pre-race interviews and get a feel for some of the participants we will be taping the next day. You will be able to check-in for the race here.

This year we are relaxing our rule on having to wear Urban Dare shirts. If you have team costumes/uniforms, you may wear those. Otherwise, you must wear the Urban Dare shirts, which you will receive at check-in. We will have a $50 prize for the best costume.

You should bring a cell phone and a digital camera to show your pictures at the end of the race. A cell phone camera will work. Maps are also handy and you should have someone to call to help look up clues. I also recommend a pen or pencil to take notes.

Once you are out of the starting blocks, you will pick up your clue sheets and be on your way. You can call friends as much as you want for help on clues. Urban Dare Newport Beach

Thank you to evereyone who participated in Urban Dare Newport Beach.

Congratulations to Sylvia Salcedo & Charlaine McKenzie who won with a time of 1:48:55. We now have 17 teams that have won the Super Dare cruise.

Second place went to Lindsey Denison & Tristen Ure of freckled.

Third place honors go to Junk Monster 1. The team of Junk Monster 2 came in fourth place overall and was the first family team to cross the line. They were known by the racers as the people with the purple hair. Well done.

The bonus question proved to be the most elusive, with only two teams finding it. I was originally going to include it as one of the mandatory checkpoints, but even I couldn't figure out how to find it on the net. Over by the Cannery, where the bridge crosses onto Lido Park Drive is where you will find this memorial.

Next year we will do Urban Dare Long Beach.

Urban Dare Newport Beach - Sat, Aug 22

Urban Dare Newport Beach begins Saturday, August 22 at Noon at Sharkeez at 114 McFadden Pl.

Check-in will begin at 11:00am and we will be taking registration up to the start of the race. Proceeds from the race will go towards the fight against breast cancer.

Our first place teams from the 2009 series win a 3-day Caribbean Cruise, where they will compete in the first ever Super Dare. Racers will compete on the boat, and at our 2 ports of call. It will be 3 days of fun and games on the last weekend of February 2010. Super Dare winners will receive $5,000.
