Urban Dare San Francisco Top 5
It turned out to be a beautiful day for the running of Urban Dare San Francisco.
I did learn one lesson, though. Do not hold the race on the big weekend of Fleet Week. It is so busy this weekend that I could not find a hotel in San Francisco. I woke up early and drove over from my hotel near the Oakland airport.
Valerie Herzog & Jennifer Gammon of team Speedy arrived at the finish at the same time as Chris Simpson & Lisa Clarke (these teams are pictured above). Team Speedy lived up to their name and finished the final dare for first place. Congratulations on a well-run race.
Michael Brill and his daughter Laura of Big Green came in third. I believe they are the first ever Urban Dare father daughter team.
Here is the clue that gave people the hardest time:
This man from the Orient always seems to be at the center of the action. Get your picture with his 7’+ likeness.
California seems to be the state of Urban Dare extremes. San Diego was the race with the quickest finish, and here in San Francisco we had our longest.
Thank you to everyone who participated in Urban Dare San Francisco.
Here are the top 5 teams in order:
3:11:16 - Valerie Herzog & Jennifer Gammon – Speedy
3:12:15 - Chris Simpson & Lisa Clarke
3:29:32 - Michael Brill & Laura Brill – Big Green
3:49:00 – Kaushik Datta & Shyam Lakshmin – Aloo Gobi
3:49:50 – Monica Healy & Kieran Healy – Team Van Healy
And the correct answer to the stumper clue is the statue of Yao Ming at the Wax Museum.
I’m already looking forward to next year’s Urban Dare San Francisco.
